Although this car has been converted into a hot rod it has many of the original features made famous by the beautiful 75 roadster styling. The 75 roadster guaranteed its place in the racing history books due to it competing internationally at such events as the Mille Miglia and the 24-hour races at Le Mans and Spa, running against the best and most expensive automobiles of the time including Bentley’s, Bugatti’s and Alpha Romeos. In fact, at the 1929 24 Hours of Le Mans, a Series 75 Roadster finished 6th Overall and 3rd in the Index of Performance, and at that year’s Mille Miglia, a 75 roadster won the 5-Litre Class.
In recent years this model of Chrysler has proved the car of choice for serious competitors in the Peking to Paris Endurance rallies (Vintage class) coming 1st and 2nd in 2016, 2nd in 2013 and 3rd in 2010
This 75 has a lift off canvas top, newly finished interior. Chassis is in excellent rust free condition due to a body off restoration. IFS from Heidts, 4 Link Ford 9″ with new Currie axels, newly rebuilt ’60s 327 engine with a mild build, new 3 2’s and linkage, newly rebuilt 700R4 transmission, new serpentine belt system. To cope with the new superior power it has been fitted with Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. The car has been fully rewired complete with new gauges. New radiator and fans with shroud, newly re-chromed headlights, new driving lights, new gas tank and new 2 1/2″ custom exhaust.
