The History

The model’s second incarnation, the E30, took to the roads in 1982. During its 10-year production run it could be purchased in no less than five body styles – two and four-door Saloon, five-door Touring and two-door Convertible. Temporarily dropped in 1985, the 318i reappeared in 1991 sporting a new DOHC powerplant. Suspension was independent all round by MacPherson struts, lower wishbones and coil springs at the front and semi-trailing arms and coil springs at the rear. Steering was by rack and pinion.

Quite possibly one of the finest, honest, original examples available this 318i Motorsport “Design Edition” comes to market out of 20 year ownership. Finished In Neon Blue and trimmed with the unique cloth M Sport seats, one of only 250 produced, made to celebrate the end of the E30 in 1992. This example comes complete with its original toolkit, car jack and first aid box.

The Cars running gear and power unit work exactly as the body condition would suggest it should. Having been lovingly dry stored and maintained by its previous owner and coming with the maintenance and MOT certificates to back it up.

This really is a one time chance at owning a near original example of BMW’s legendary Model that paved the way for the Z1 Roadster.
